This book represents decades of my investing experiences, extensive simulations and summaries of hundreds of books I read on investing. “Beginners & Couch Potatoes” describes the advanced features of this book in the simplest and the less time-consuming techniques. Even advance users could find some useful shortcuts.
We start with the basic books Finding Stocks, Evaluate Stocks, Trading Stocks and Market Timing. The simple technique works for the last two plunges with only one false signal (telling you to exit but reentering the market shortly) from 2000 to 2010.
You may not be able to find so many strategies in other books. I include swing trading, top-down, turnaround for value stocks… According to your risk tolerance, time available for investing and your knowledge (also the desire to learn), select one of them to start and test. A strategy describes how to screen stocks, evaluate them and sell them.
Many old teachings even from Buffett do not work in today’s market judging from their recent mediocre performances. Also, it could be too many followers.
Many common tools are described such as rotations of ETFs, technical analysis, covered calls and trade plan. Basically this book covers most investing strategies except day trading.

I just bought this book due to the woes of opening market 2016 and being brand new to investing, my eyes were crossed with all the different reasons we are were we are and what one can do to "manipulate the market".I skipped ahead to his chapter book 14, Investment Advices just to get a feel of his writing style. His research is phenomenal and doesn't overwhelm with big words or catchy "sales-like" tactics.
I truly believe this ordinary man, Mr. Tony Pow has a gift of explaining his experience as an investor without the bull crap of trying to make you buy his stuff. He seemingly just wants to share his knowledge, tips, and clarity of definitions for the kind of folks like me who want to understand something FIRST before jumping in with emotions of trying to make a boat load of money. I am liking the technical analysis side he brings.
I also bought his inexpensive book, A Nation of No Losers. Literally, I can not give him enough credit for his plain english and perspective on US relations with China. Thank you Mr. Pow.
Mr. Tony Pow talks about hidden gems in his book, well....quite frankly, he is a hidden gem. Thank you and I will also post my comments about this author to my Facebook page!!

well written, easy to understand
This is an excellent book on all aspect of stock market topic, simplified investment strategies and understanding individual risk.
Mr. Tony Pow explains fundamental and technical strategies in a very unique way beginners can comprehend. His book has valuable information analyzing market timing, detecting bottom of sector, stocks and market plunges using indicator as SMA and RSI-14.
Through out the book sharing his own investing advice "good and bad experience", knowledge researching Stock-ETF, easily explain layout charts and much more.
I recommend this book to all investors seeking to improve investing strategies and fine tuning your techniques.
